Sound Healing Therapy Debbie Rey, Golden Bay, NZ
Let sound do what
words cannot.
Sound healing therapy uses vibration and frequency to guide your nervous system into a deep state of rest — where your body can naturally restore balance and begin to heal. Available in-person at my Golden Bay, New Zealand, sessions use Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, medicine drum, rattles and chimes to create a layered soundscape your body responds to at a cellular level.
Worldwide via Zoom · In-person Golden Bay, NZ
THE EXPERIENCE
What it feels like
Before the science — the experience. This is what clients describe.
"You lie still, fully clothed, on a comfortable table. As the bowls begin to sing around and on you, you feel it before you hear it, a warmth moving through your chest, a loosening in your shoulders you didn't realise you were holding. Time slows. Thoughts dissolve. For the first time in a long time, you are simply... here."
How clients describe their first session with Debbie
THE INSTRUMENTS
What Debbie uses in your session
Each instrument creates layered frequencies that interact with your body's natural bio-rhythms.
Tibetan singing bowls
Rich, layered tones placed near or on the body to create deep vibration and resonance.
Tuning forks
Applied near and on the body to target specific frequencies and support nervous system regulation.
Medicine Drum
The steady, primal beat of the medicine drum entrains the brainwaves into a theta state, the same deeply relaxed, receptive state used in meditation, hypnotherapy and shamanic healing. Grounding and deeply settling for the nervous system.
Koshi Chimes
Delicate, crystalline tones tuned to the four elements — earth, water, fire and air. Koshi chimes bring a quality of lightness and space to a session, often used to open or close the experience and support a gentle return to awareness.
Crystal singing bowls
Pure, sustained tones that support deep brainwave shifts and emotional release.
Chimes & other tools
Woven in intuitively to create a layered soundscape that responds to what your body needs.
Rattles
Used in sacred and shamanic traditions for thousands of years, rattles create a rhythmic sound that clears energetic density, shifts stagnant energy and supports the body in moving through and releasing what it has been holding.
Chimes & other tools
Woven in intuitively throughout the session to create a layered soundscape that responds in real time to what your body and nervous system need in each moment.

THE SCIENCE
Why sound works at a body level
Sound is not just something we hear, it is vibration the body responds to at a cellular level.
Brainwave entrainment
Sound guides your brain from active beta states into alpha and theta . Associated with deep rest and healing.
Vagal nerve stimulation
Sound vibration supports the vagus nerve, the body's main relaxation and emotional regulation pathway.
Cortisol reduction
Research suggests sound therapy may help lower cortisol, the stress hormone linked to chronic inflammation.
Nervous system regulation
Sound reduces stress activity and increases rest-and-repair activity, your body's natural healing state.
